Hi, my name is Siyan, and I’m reaching out to share my story—and my dream.
I’m a young girl with big goals, raised in a small town in the middle of nowhere in New Brunswick, Canada. But my story starts long before that.
I was born in China, in a region where opportunities were scarce and financial hardship was a daily reality. My family immigrated to Canada when I was very young, hoping to find a better life and a brighter future. Starting over in a new country with very limited resources hasn’t been easy, but my parents have worked incredibly hard to provide what they could.
Growing up in a low-income immigrant household, I’ve learned to be resourceful, resilient, and determined. I’ve faced language barriers, cultural challenges, and financial stress—but I’ve never let those hold me back from dreaming big.
Education has always been my way forward. I’ve thrown myself into my studies with everything I have, especially in math and physcis. My passion is engineering—the idea of solving real-world problems, designing innovative solutions, and one day making a meaningful impact on the world drives me every single day.
I dream of attending one of the world’s top universities—Harvard, Brown, Stanford, or some of Canada’s best like Waterloo, UofT, or Queen’s—to pursue engineering. I know these are competitive and expensive schools, but I believe in working hard and aiming high, even when the odds are stacked against me.
Unfortunately, even with scholarships and part-time work, the cost of applying to and attending these universities is overwhelming. From application fees and standardized tests to travel for interviews and possible relocation, the expenses are adding up quickly—and my family simply can’t afford to cover it all.
That’s why I’m asking for your support. Any donation, big or small, would go directly toward application fees, academic materials, travel expenses, and preparation tools that will help make my dreams a reality.
If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to me.
Thank you for believing in someone like me—a girl from a small town, with a big dream, and a lot of heart. ❤️
