Garland High School’s Speech and Debate team is celebrating its 100th year of competition this year! Our team has thrived on tradition and talent for a century, and this year we gained a brand new coach who has encouraged new beginnings and helped carry on our legacy. However, the addition of our new coach dramatically decreased our budget. This year our budget was cut in HALF, but our success has more than DOUBLED. After a wildly successful season, and with the help of our amazing coaches, we have the opportunity to take 13 qualifying students to the State Speech and Debate tournament in Houston, Texas this March, and 7 qualifying students to the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Omaha, Nebraska this May. We need your help to recoup some of that money lost in order to send our team to State and Nationals! Your donations will go towards lodging, transportation, dining, and tournament entry fees.
