Jaxon’s lifesaving surgery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lily and I’m fundraising for our family dog, Jaxon. He’s a 5 1/2 year old Golden Retriever and we love him so much.
He was just diagnosed with Idiopathic Chylothorax which causes fluid to build up in his chest cavity. This makes his breathing difficult and he will eventually go into respiratory distress and die. He has had multiple chest xrays, lab work and nearly 8 liters of fluid drained from his chest in the past 7 days, this isn’t a cure, this is a temporary band aid so that he can breathe.
Our best hope is a procedure called Thoracic Duct Ligation with cisterna chyli ablation, and pericardectomy. We have been advised this procedure will cost between $8,000 and $10,000. The chance for a successful resolution is 80% or more. We’re waiting for a call back from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine for a more precise surgical consult.
We want to try our best to give him the best chance at survival with a good quality of his life.
Please consider donating, if you’re unable to, please consider passing along this request.
We are grateful for any chance to keep him here with us and his 14 year old golden retriever brother Wally ♥️♥️
