"We are the good people of the "California Institute", and are looking for funds to secure a new episode in our California Long Story Short series!" - Professor Heartlin of the totally real California Institute.
We are students in Silicon Valley, CA, and we need your help to bring the second episode of our documentary film about California History to life. This project has been in the works for years, and our first episode (which you can watch here on our page) debuted in November of 2022 to much success. Audiences loved it, and our community is eagerly awaiting the second episode! We even got an article written about us in our student newspaper.
For our due-diligence-loving friends, we have provided a link to our budgeting spreadsheet here: See our budget here
About us:
'California Long Story Short' is a film that aims to teach history in a narrative, educational, yet entertaining way; complete with theatrical recreations of historic events and characters. This project is the brainchild of director Ashton Ross, a 15-year-old dyslexic teenager living in the San Francisco Bay Area and attending Los Gatos High. The idea came about in the summer of 2020 then transformed and came to life in January 2022. For the whole year, Ashton and his friends including important filmmaking friends spent our whole summer filming the first episode of this project, then releasing the final product in December of 2022.
We are super excited to make Episode two, and we're glad you're here helping us do that.
Sincerely,
CLSS Team
