Late last night, a devastating fire tore through Olympia Place in Amherst, MA — displacing over 230 residents, many of whom are UMass Amherst students who have suddenly lost their homes and belongings. In just a few hours, hundreds of students found themselves without access to essential items like bedding, clothing, food, and household necessities.
While everyone was safely evacuated, the road to recovery will be long and difficult. Many of these students are far from home and without immediate access to family support or the resources needed to rebuild their daily lives.
This GoFundMe has been created to provide direct aid to the displaced residents of Olympia Place. All proceeds will go toward supplying bedding, clothing, food, toiletries, and other essential household items to help them get back on their feet.
Every contribution — no matter how small — will make a real difference for someone affected by this tragedy.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help us reach more people. The Amherst community is strong, and together, we can help our neighbors recover from this devastating loss.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
