Support Anna's Recovery

WE LOVE ANNA AZARJEW!

We are so excited for her to have moved to NYC to start work at the end of the month with charity:  water. However, there have been some bumps along the way.

You know that terrifying feeling when your health insurance has run out at one job and you're waiting for the new insurance to kick in? Anna's living through the worst-case scenario right now and I'm hoping that our friends can help ease her stress.

A few nights ago after a wedding, Anna went exploring through a historic and spooky cementary in Richmond VA. Fun! Suddenly, headlights shown on her and as she ran away, she impailed her leg on an iron fence. (#oops)

One emergency room visit, 10 sitches, and a strict bed-rest diagnosis  later, the doctors assured her that she would be back in action in just a few weeks.

Unfortunately, she called her health insurance company from the job she just left, only to be told that they no longer covered her. Her insurance had expired just a few days before.

Then, a few days laters her fever spiked and the wound area became extremely inflamed.

Ben (Anna's studly boo), rushed Anna back to the hospital. She was admitted and they diagnosed her with MRSA (a bacterial infection highly resistent to antibiotics) and a blood clot. The doctors said that these issues were very treatable, but has she not sought medical treatment, she could have died.

The good news... Anna's in great hands and will totally recover! The bad news... She just moved to NYC and doesn't even yet have an apartment to call home. She has had to delay starting work at Madewell to suppliment her income due to this injury. Her medical bills are piling up and her doctors said that they may reach the $10,000s. She will have to take additional medication in the weeks to come and revisit her doctor every two weeks to make sure she's recovering from the blood clot, MRSA, and leg wound.

We are all hoping and praying that the hospital will reduce her bills and support her financially as well. However, in the meantime, I want to pursue fundraising $5,000 to help Anna address the current bills she is facing.

I know we've all experienced her incredible heart, beautiful spirit and delicous food. If you have $20, $50, or $100 to share, I know we can rally and our small donations can quickly add up to something significant to help.
