I hate running and always have, mainly because I’ve never really been good at it.

This year, I wanted to put myself out of my comfort zone and so I decided to partner up with my ultimate Hyrox idol - Nadia Udalova cuz well if you wanna get good at something you better hang out with the pros at it… anyway

Hi, i’m Karime, a CrossFit and HYROX athlete based in Amsterdam. This year, after months of training, self-doubt, and breakthroughs, I raced with Nadia and she pushed me so hard that we qualified to the HYROX World Championships in Chicago, one of the most competitive fitness events in the world now.

This is a massive moment for me - not just as an athlete, but as a woman.

But here's the thing:

Getting there comes with a high cost. Flights, accommodation, food, visa fees, event registration, and all the extras add up to over €2400—and as of now, I’m unemployed and trying to fund this dream on my own.

Asking for support feels vulnerable (hello, ego ), but I also know that I’ve poured everything I have into this - and I’d love to take you along with me.

I’m not just going to Chicago for myself, I’m going to represent every woman who's battled self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and fear of failure… and still showed up.

To show that strength doesn’t mean perfection, it means showing up, consistently, especially when it's hard and I can tell you, the past three months have been some of the hardest… job loss, break ups, expired visas … this girl has hit rock bottom head first and cried enough tears to solve Mexico’s drought… But the one thing that kept me going was this, training hard for this event and being held by my friends and the beautiful community of CrossFit Amsterdam.
