2nd Annual Santa's Flight Toy Drive

We are Fairborn Firefighters and members of the Fairborn Professional Firefighters Local 1235 and this is our 2nd annual Santa's Flight Toy Drive benefiting the children of the City of Fairborn and The Dayton Children's Hospital.
My name is Carl Fugate and I am a member of the Fairborn Fire Department and the Fairborn Professional Firefighters Local 1235 and I began this campaign last year to benefit the children in our community. I got the idea for this campaign because of my own childhood experiences.
Growing up my family fell on very hard times and my brother and I did not recieve any gifts for several Christmas seasons. Unknowingly, a neighbor knew about our hard times and called the local fire department in our community. The firefighters, not knowing anything about me or my family showed up to my house in fire trucks and delivered toys and christmas gifts for my family. They had taken up donations from the community and delivered to several families that evening. Not only did this catapult me at an early age to want to become a firefighter, but it also gave me a drive to work hard. This hard work got me to where I am today and it helped me realize my purpose.
My purpose is to use my position to give back and pass on the same generousity I recieved as a child. This toy drive is all about the children. Last year we collected toys and monetary donations in order to purchase more toys. We were able to effect 12 families with a total of 25 children directly in Fairborn. We had the families come to the fire station and Santa delivered the toys to the kids. We also delivered several totes of new toys to Dayton Children's Hospital.
This year I want to go bigger and help even more kids. I have set this account up in order to purchase new toys. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the ones who matter most in our community, the children!!!
We are collecting monetary donations through November. I hope you can find it in your heart to donate for the children. Remeber even a single dollar is not too little. Every single dollar adds up and can benefit a child. If you are unable to donate please support us and share our mission for this season of giving.
The members of the Fairborn Professional Firefighters Local 1235 is a large group of amazing men and women. Individual we may stand, but together we are family and our family wants to help the families in need in our community!!!
