Dre's Tragic Apartment Fire

Our wonderful, sweet, and supportive friend Dre, a person who radiates contagious enthusiasm, loves to make people laugh and feel good, a woman of faith and a Latin/African dancer, needs our help.
We received devastating news that in the wee hours of August 30, a lightning strike hit the roof of Dre's apartment complex igniting a devastating fire. The fire spread quickly and engulfed many units, one of which was Dre’s apartment.
Dre stated that she was awakened by her neighbors frantically pounding on the door. She was able to see the fire in her apartment due to the lightening striking above her apartment. In a split second, she realized the electricity was out, and as she looked around the dark room, she realized that she could not save anything of sentimental value.
Dre was left with nothing but the remains of ash - the firemen told her that nothing was salvageable. What she used to call her home had been totally destroyed. Luckily, she was not injured in the fire, and she made a safe escape with only her purse and her car keys.
Unfortunately, she lost everything else: her clothes, shoes, her bed, work uniforms, family memorabilia, furniture, dishes and all the things necessary for everyday life.
On behalf of Dre, we set up this GoFundMe page for people who are willing and able to donate to help her find a new place to live, and to restore a sense of peace during this difficult transition. All donations will go directly to Dre, and will help her begin her new life by getting her back on her feet.
