This fundraiser is being set up for my grandparents, Jim and Carla Evans. They are both turning 79 this year and aren't doing so well health wise. My grandmother has Parkinsons disease that is progressively worsening, and she is becoming more dependent on her wheelchair when she leaves the house. My grandfather has been trying his best to keep up with all my grandmother's needs, but it has been taking a significant toll on his health as well. Their current van has over 300,000 miles on it, needs engine repairs along with other extensive mechanical work done to it. Their current van was fitted with a ramp that Jim must manually put together and push the wheelchair up and into the van each time to load/unload it, and it's getting harder and harder to get her wheelchair in and out of it. This has led to multiple injuries, falls, hospital visits, and downtime from work. Due to the current condition of their vehicle, they are mostly homebound, and they both see multiple specialty doctors in a city that is over 40 minutes away from them, so proper transportation is a big need for them. They could really use a new handicapped van that Carla can stay in her chair instead of having to be transferred into the van seat, but they are very expensive. They start anywhere from $25,000 up to $70,000. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you very much! -Tyler Hoyer and the Evans Family
The funds raised will be used to help get Carla and Jim a new to them wheelchair accessible van. This includes paying the property taxes and getting it legal so they don't have to worry about that after they get the van. Any extra funds we receive would go towards medical expenses and possibly even a new wheelchair for Carla.
