Hi, everyone. This is not the GoFundMe I wanted to start but here goes. On Wednesday 10/25/23 at 7:34 pm, my life partner Steve Robles was freed from his suffering. He left this world as he would've wanted, surrounded by people who love him, high as a kite on morphine and listening to James Brown.
Now, all that is left is the business of death, and those of us who cared for him the most need help to make this as smooth a transition as possible. We are contacting the Neptune Society for cremation and will be scattering a portion of his ashes at sea. Not many people knew this, but Steve and I were planning on getting married next spring and wanted to do a honeymoon cruise. So, this will serve as that and when my time comes, my ashes will be scattered in the same spot.
We are also planning on several celebrations of life, details to come. We will keep everyone informed.
Many people have reached out to ask how to help and this is sort of the place we're putting together to accept that help. Cremation expenses, memorial expenses, whatever is needed. This is such a complicated process and I honestly have no idea what all is necessary or required. I just know I need help.
I am at heart a writer, but words are failing me at the moment. My beloved Steve is at last free of the terrible burdens that diabetes gave him to bear. Please help me give a proper send off to the man whose entire life was devoted to putting others before himself.
