Ryan was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in 2025 after months of severe abdominal pain and extensive medical testing. What was first suspected to be Crohn’s Disease was ultimately found during a colonoscopy to be a tumor, leading to further evaluation and a lymphoma diagnosis. This aggressive cancer has required equally aggressive treatment. Ryan has undergone six rounds of chemotherapy at CHOP, enduring significant complications and multiple hospital admissions.
Recently, Ryan was readmitted with severe pain, and testing revealed that his tumor has begun to grow again. This progression during treatment is considered refractory lymphoma—a devastating setback after months of difficult therapy.
Ryan will now be transferred to Penn Medicine for CAR T-cell therapy, the most effective treatment option for refractory lymphoma and one not performed at CHOP. His T-cells will be collected and engineered to fight the cancer, a process that takes approximately two months. During this time, he will begin a new chemotherapy regimen to control the tumor’s growth. This unexpected turn has placed tremendous emotional and financial strain on the Baker family.
Anyone who knows the Bakers knows their generosity and strength. Today, they need our support. All donations will go directly toward the significant medical and household expenses they now face, allowing Krissy and Dickie to remain focused on Ryan, Riley, and Kody during this extraordinarily difficult time.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
