Laurie's Road to Recovery
Doação protegida
On July 24, 2022 Laurie Jones (Ward) was involved in a serious head-on collision on her way home from the Castlegar area.
Laurie, being the driver of the car, suffered an extensive amount of injuries (complex broken left foot and ankle, complex broken right foot and ankle, broken left tibia, broken right knee, broken pelvis, broken hip, dislocated hip, 4 broken ribs, broken L2 vertebrae, and a compound fracture to her left arm. The doctors also had worries about the vascular damage to her left arm)
She was transported to Trail Hospital and then to Kelowna General Hospital later that day due to the seriousness of her injuries. Laurie has already undergone two major surgeries - to her left arm, as well as surgery to her pelvis/hip and the doctor has said she won't be walking for atleast 6 months.
I think we can all say that Laurie's road to recovery is going to be challenging and long. Anyone that knows this beautiful soul knows she has the biggest heart; she constantly thinks of others before herself, and is so supportive of her family and friends.
Laurie and her family need our support now. This money will help immensely with her medical bills, rehabilitation, the family being able to support her whether that is in Kelowna or home in the Kootenays. Money is the last thing this family should have to worry about.
Laurie and the family would like to extend the biggest thank you to the first responders on the call, the civilians that stopped to help, all medical staff that has been involved, and everyone who has reached out/prayed/and offered support to them; every little thing is a huge help to Laurie's journey to her new "normal".
I will try to provide updates as much as possible to keep you in the loop on how she is doing.
Thank you so much in advance to everyone who can help in any possible way. :)
