Joanne's walk for Bright Futures Secondary School

I'm raising money for www.changinglivesmalawi.com Another classroom is needed at Bright Futures Secondary School for the new students who will start in September. My sister and brother-in-law run this charity as volunteers.

My challenge: As many of you know, I had breast cancer and had to have a breast removed. Nothing was straightforward as I had lots of infections and more operations. Whilst I was waiting for my mastectomy, I set myself a walking challenge and help to raise money for a shower block for the orphans whom Changing Lives Malawi helps to support. Now I am awaiting reconstructive surgery and need to reduce my BMI. So, for the month of July, I am setting myself another challenge - to walk 200km.

Can you help me please to keep me motivated? I need to achieve my goal of reducing my BMI prior to my next surgery and I want to help raise funds for a new classroom for orphans in northern Malawi. Please help me? Thank you, Joanne x

More information about Changing Lives Malawi: www.changinglivesmalawi.com is a charity in central Scotland, run by volunteers who are passionate about helping hundreds of orphans, and their community to have a brighter future. We support a variety of projects, the end goal being sustainability and self-sufficiency. 500+ orphans are fed once a week, some walking 20km. There are no charities feeding children in schools so all are hungry. We support a nursery for 75 preschoolers and phase 1 of a secondary school has opened and we are currently fundraising for more classrooms and teachers accommodation. 100% of donations goes to projects.
