Since September, our close friend Vanessa Deeming has spent far more time in the hospital than anyone ever should. What began as what everyone thought would be a quick hospital visit quickly turned into something no one could have ever prepared for. After weeks of uncertainty, tests, and unanswered questions, Vanessa was given the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 brain cancer.
Over the past month and beyond, Vanessa has been in and out of the hospital, enduring more than most people face in a lifetime. She has already undergone two major brain surgeries, including a recent and incredibly complex procedure, all while facing challenges no 18-year-old should have to navigate.
Anyone who knows her knows how kind, thoughtful, and full of life she is. She has always shown up for others without hesitation, and now she is facing one of the hardest battles imaginable. Alongside the emotional and physical toll of this diagnosis, the financial strain that comes with ongoing medical care, recovery, time away from work or school, and travel quickly becomes overwhelming for both her and her family.
This GoFundMe was created as a way to surround her and her family with support during this incredibly difficult time. Our hope is to help ease some of the financial burden so they can focus on healing, rest, and being together—without the added weight of worrying about expenses piling up.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting her through treatment and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping her in your thoughts means just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for helping remind her and her family that they are not facing this alone.
