My name is Julia Antu. I am an 8th grader at Owen Goodnight Jr. High in San Marcos, TX.  I am an active student both academically and athletically. I am  the President of the National Junior Honor Society and Vice-President of Student Council at Goodnight Junior High.
I am excited to say that my writing piece, Daddy's Little Girl, has been chosen to receive a National Medal. More than 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted by students' grades 7-12 this year. In receiving this National Medal it places me within the top 1% of all submissions.   Therefore, I have been invited to Carnegie Hall in New York City this June  to receive my medal and participate in showcasing my work. This is a once in a life time opportunity and would love to attend and represent my school, my community, and the City of San Marcos, Tx.
In receiving this honor,  I will be joining a legacy of celebrated authors and artist including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, just to name a few artist.
Please help support me in this prestiges honor of attending Carnegie Hall.
The estimated cost for airfare, hotel, meals is about $3500.
