Hello!
Thank you for taking an interest in supporting my dream of attending college. After graduating high school and getting into Cal Poly San Luis Obispo I was really getting excited to be the first one in my family to college.
Unfortunately, in applying for financial aid, it was discovered that my identity was stolen and my social security number was being used by someone else. Despite almost daily calls with their customer service, I was unable to resolve this issue before the filing deadline. I am optimistic that this will be resolved but probably not for a while. As a result of all this, I was not able to get any financial aid for college.
This has been very stressful and deflating time for me and my parents, who have sacrificed a lot in supporting my journey to college. If we can’t resolve my financial aid problem in time, I will instead attend community college and transfer when I can.
Thank you to all who have already expressed interest in helping me. I cannot communicate my immense gratitude.
