This page is for our mom, Deborah Mason. In May 2015 mom hurt her arm, neck and shoulders as the result of a slip and fall. For months following the fall up to February 2016 she continued to seek medical help from numerous medical providers because the pain had become chronic. In February 2016 she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of bone marrow cancer. This diagnosis has led to many hospital visits, consultations with specialists, chemotherapy treatments, and a required bone marrow transplant. Although she was graciously granted temporary medical leave (FMLA) to receive treatment, her condition has left her unable to return to work for a year or longer. Our family has always been one to handle situations on our own, but with continued financial commitments and medical expenses, we are asking our communities for help. Please consider making a monetary contribution to help support our mom's medical and living expenses. This ongoing battle with cancer has been tiring, but she has been a CHAMP throughout, never losing faith and keeping a smile on her face. Mom looks forward to overcoming this illness and returning to work to serve and advocate for others as she has done throughout her professional career.
We are all so grateful for the support we have received from our friends and family throughout her illness. You have helped us keep mom encouraged and strong. We greatly appreciate your continued thoughts, prayers, calls, texts, cards, snacks, and contributions.
