Steve is almost in surgery right now and is preparing for the hardest battle of his life. Let's come together and try to take some of the financial strain off of him in his time of need. "My name is Steve White. I'm 30 and I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I attempted to join the U.S. Air Force after high school but was declared unfit for service. I hope to attend Arkansas State in the fall of 2016 to pursue an accounting degree. I was having trouble closing my left eyelid so I began having tests done to see why. I immediately thought it was a stroke as such is common in the family. After ruling out other possibilities an MRI was done to find a cause.
On February 22, 2016 the MRI revealed a grade 1 glioma on my brain stem causing facial dysfunction. At the time of this posting it is unclear whether this lesion is cancerous or benign, but does pose a threat in any case.
As many are aware, diagnoses such as this are not only terrifying but can cost a small fortune to treat. I have a full time job but now have no chance of pulling in more than $20,000. Modern cancer treatments cost well in excess of $100,000, and since I may need more specialized treatment, a higher bill is expected.
I have every confidence that I can overcome this. The doctors and medicine give me the utmost hope for a full recovery.
Asking for money is something I greatly hate to do. I understand this is my battle to fight. I do have insurance through my workplace, but that coverage will fall woefully short.
