Never in my worst nightmare would have I imagined what this year has been like for us.
On March 1st, my husband Tony had a heart attack and collapsed. That was then followed by kidney failure— likely because of the dye used in the cath labs he needed to place 2 stints after the heart attack so they thought . After a Month hospitalized &
After rounds of dialysis and several other complications later, we were now facing stage 5 kidney disease. Miraculously he was able to come off of dialysis after some time. Hospitals kept testing to find out what was happening and numerous biopsy’s showed nothing.
Then, he started bleeding internally.
Doctors had to remove about half of his colon and intestines.
We were not out of the woods yet. Five days later, admitted back in hospital with Congestive heart failure, function dropped to just 17%. Eventually, he was sent home in specialized life vest worn 24/7 in case his heart were to stop. Then got covid ( A symptomatic thank GOD Since then he’s had an ICD implanted Still, we were seeing more specialist and having more biopsy’s
Finally, we got some answers.
The doctors have diagnosed Tony with stage 3-4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
It was another punch in the gut.
Then came another when we started discussing treatment. Because of the condition his heart is in, Tony can’t have the typical chemo treatment.
His specialists worked together to come up with a specialized treatment plan. And of course that’s become a fight with the insurance to pay for it .
Tonys last day at work was February 29th ,permanently unable to return we’ve depleted our savings to stay afloat.
To say we are struggling is an understatement.
The financial strain and emotional/physical stress feels like we are drowning. We need him to focus on healing not bills that are piling up. My husband has always been a very prideful, very hardworking man. And despite all he’s been through, he still his. He hates having to ask for help. Now I’m his care giver and are at a point with no choice but to ask for help & ask for your prayers
God Bless & Thank you
