You may have heard that my younger sister Jae Gregory took a bad fall the end of January and broke her femur in SIX places! It's a very serious injury.
I started a GoFundMe for her because she's had to hire help, resulting in serious out of pocket expenses. Jae met with her surgeon today and he said she is starting to heal, but he also told her that realistically it will be 12 to 18 months before she recovers.
If you are interested in supporting Jae, there are several ways to do so: sending her cards, visiting and or running errands for her, and donating to the GoFundMe.
If you would prefer, here is her VENMO link.
Thank you so much for whatever your response is!
March 21st UPDATE:
My hip is steadily healing, and today I’m focused on transitioning safely from using a walker to hiking poles.
Unfortunately, I’ve received unwelcome news—my new prescription will cost me $2,000 a year which is quite a burden. As someone who prizes independence, it’s difficult for me to ask for help, and I’m surprised that even at 8 weeks post-injury I still need some in-home care.
I’m also dealing with an unexpected issue of spiking blood pressure, a challenge I never encountered before my injury. I’m actively working to manage this and keep my spirits up too.
Despite these setbacks, two goals continue to inspire me: returning to gardening work, and putting on worldwide dance adventures! Goals I can’t wait to achieve.
Thank you so much for your encouraging cards, texts, and emails—they truly mean a lot to me!
