One Village at a Time

Hei, my name is Alexis Pangan, a Filipina living in Stavanger,  Norway.  My father recently passed away and to honour him, we are in the process of starting a foundation in his name, Edgardo Pangan.
 
In 2016, we organized a fund raising campaign from Norway to assist our friends in the Philippines for their annual Christmas feeding of the Aetas. Whereby the money that was collected was use partly to buy cooked food & basic food neccesities that was distributed on Christmas eve in Subic, Olongapo in Philippines.
 
The Lion Club in Bryne, Norway had a generous money donation besides the football jerseys for kids from the Bryne Football Club.
 
We went around town looking for Aetas (an ethnic tribe that lives on the nearby mountains)with their families who came down to the city during the holiday season to get some help during this time of the year.  The food we gave out ensure some happiness in their life even for that moment alone.
 
 We had the privilege to be invited to visit their village in the mountain to learn and interact with the kids and their families. With the rest of the money that was donated were spent on food, buying school supplies & musical instruments, sports ball such as basketball & football.  We distributed these items when we went to the village, taught a few kids to play football, to try a few instruments and brought food to eat.
 
We took the journey by car, crossing a river by foot, tricycle and more walking. The village welcomed us with open arms, with the school kids and their families welcoming us at the school grounds.
We were met by Principal Johnson and his faculty of this remote elementary school with a simple feast of food that they have cooked from their own produce. 
 
 We had a chat with him and a local elder to ask what we could help to make their life easier when it comes to the kids.  This is what they are wishing for:
 
-possibility to get electricity for their students to study when it gets dark
-computers or laptop was high on their list so that they could at least learn basic data knowldege
 
This is why we are setting up this page to see if we area ble to get some funding to make the wish a reality.  We had been able to collect a few laptops that was generously donated to us.
 
Now, what we need is a simple and easy to maintain solarpanel system installed.  We are looking at first to collect €600 to cover the  first of few solarpanel system that we are planning to set-up.
 
We are asking for your help by donating for us to be able to create better learning opportinutues for the kids in this school.
 
We will greatly appreciate all the help and assistance you could extend to this kids.  For sure they will be very happy and grateful for this wonderful gift.
