In Memory of Bill Edgeworth
As many of our Richards Packaging-Tacoma, WA friends already know, we are all a bit dazed and heart-broken over the sudden death of our longtime General Manager Bill Edgeworth on Sept. 28, 2015 in a Seattle hospital.
Bill was diagnosed with a rare cancer on Aug. 28, 2015. Two days later, he entered the hospital and unfortunately never made it back home to his young and expanding family.
On Aug. 3, 2015, Bill was on top of the world, happily announcing James, now 16 months old, will be a big brother next spring. Ironically, his sibling is due on Bill's birthday, March 22, 2016. Bill passed away not knowing if James will have a brother or sister. But, Bill did find comfort knowing he and wife, Lily, chose meaningful names for their new baby - William (after him, of course) or Mary (after his Mum).
Lily, a Chinese citizen, is not yet sure where she will settle to raise her children without Bill. She doesn't drive, nor does she have family in the U.S. except one cousin at opposite end of country in Florida.
Lily and her children face a long road and life ahead without "Honey" and Daddy by their sides.
Bill was a genuinely good guy who loved his employees like they were his own family members. A world traveler and international businessman, Bill never met a stranger.
However, Bill met his match and nemesis in the Stage IV cancer diagnosis. Too little time to truly ensure his family's future is the one dreamed of by Bill and his beautiful bride of less than three years.
If we can please provide our angel Bill with peace of mind that Lily can start a college fund for the children and/or pay for eye-popping hospital expenses with your donations, our Richards-Tacoma team would be forever grateful. We thank each of you for caring.
RIP William R. Edgeworth
