For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting Shannon here is a little bio....
Shannon O'Brien is a member of the UHS family and works as a clinical case manager. In her role, she has been a great support to Notre Dame students as they navigated their health needs. She enjoys collaborating with campus partners on wellness initiatives and loves making connections. Shannon is a life-long Irish fan and rarely misses a Game Day celebration. She is the proud mother of five, including teenage triplet daughters.
While on a business trip in November, Shannon discovered the lump. Shortly after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. It's very aggressive and has metastasized into both breast and her surrounding lymph nodes.
Shannon is currently undergoing treatments of chemotherapy. Once chemo is completed she will have to undergo radiation and then a full mastectomy.
The UHS family is really trying to rally around her and do as much as we can for her. We are having a fundraiser for her on March 14th. Every donation will help to relieve the financial burden of these treatments and help support her family.
