Support a Single Mom Facing Eviction

Hello, my name is Beth and I am trying to raise money for my daughter. Let me do a quick rundown. My daughter Katherine is a 23-year-old single mother to my beautiful granddaughter Lily, who is almost 2! Kat recently moved into a new place a few months ago and paid $1600 to move in. The landlord said he did not do a lease. We asked what rules he had: don't drive or park on the grass, and not a lot of people there at one time. He asked who would be living there with her and was told my daughter and granddaughter, which is all of the people who did live there. No problem, sounded great, gave $800 for the first month's rent and $800 deposit. She was there only 3 weeks and allowed her cousin and her 5-month-old baby to stay over for a night due to her electric being off from a storm. Boy, was that a mistake. The next day she was informed by him that she must move out by the first. That would have been April 1, 2025. Me being the overprotective mother I am, said I don’t think so. Give her a legal eviction and she will leave; otherwise, she's not going anywhere. Then he comes and cuts the water off and puts a lock on the meter claiming there’s a water leak. For two days, no one returned to repair said water meter. So I took it upon myself to remove the lock and turn the water back on. A few days later, he comes to my daughter's home making threats, at which time we called the sheriff. He sent a deputy out who informed us he could not make her leave without a legal eviction from the judge, and to not leave until that happens and to not pay him any money. He refused to come to fix the AC unit and the breaker box. Long story short, it took him two months to finally file a legal eviction. She had 15 days to get out. Within that 15 days, her landlord passed away and now his son is in charge of everything, and he is willing to allow her to stay if she can pay the past two months she owes. I’m asking for help to pay that so that her and my grandbaby have a safe, stable home to live in. We know she should have been saving the money to pay that last month's rent. But we all know how young adults can be. This has been an eye-opener for her, as she sees how quickly you can go from everything to nothing. Almost homeless. He would like his money by the 1st of July. We thank him for the opportunity to even think about letting her stay. She could not afford to move again. So any help would be appreciated more than words could ever express!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!
