Most people may not be aware, but Brent and Hilary Moles have been expecting their first child, a boy; due in October 2015.
On Sunday night, August 16, 2015, at only 30 weeks pregnant, Hilary had to undergo an emergency cesarean section due to a placental abruption. Baby Miller Thomas Moles was born, at 11:38 pm, weighing 2 pounds and 14.5 ounces. He is at CAMC Women and Children's neonatal intesive care unit, receiving mechanical ventilation to assist with his breathing. His tests are coming back great, and his doctors are very optimistic. He is one tough little guy!
A placental abruption is a serious complication of pregnancy, and occurs when the placenta peels away from the inner wall of the uterus. Placental abruption can deprive the baby of oxygen and nutrients and cause heavy bleeding in the mother. At that point, Hilary was diagnosed with preeclampsia, and is still battling to keep her blood pressure under control.
On top of everything, Hilary has been in the process of starting a new job. Her health insurance with the current employer will be terminated at the end of August, and insurance with the new employer cannot begin until she has officially started; therefore, making her ineligble for short-term disability. Luckily, Brent is able to pick up Hilary and Miller on his health insurance.
Anyone who knows Brent and Hilary, as well as their families, knows how kind, thoughtful and strong they are. They would do anything to help anyone in need, and now is the time to help them. Due to the unexpected hospital bills, NICU costs and the loss of an income, anything that can be contributed to ease their minds during this difficult time will be greatly appreciated.
This family has a long road ahead of them. They are so very grateful to those who have already helped, and will forever appreciate everyone's generosity.
