Nancy's Recovery

As some of you know, my mother Nancy has been in various Western New York Hospitals since November 15th.  What started out as potential case of food poisoning evolved into some very serious conditions. She was hemorrhaging internally for several weeks and unfortunately, they had a very difficult time locating the exact cause and location.  Whenever she showed some improvement, another system would start shutting down forcing the medical team to refocus on other more critical issues.  As many of you know, Nancy is a fighter and positively stubborn... She has been combating each aliment with vigor and without her husband by her side. Lew (my father) has only been able to visit a few times as he has severe mobility issues. Tina and Shaun (Sister and Brother in law) have been an absolute blessing and help as often as possible.  I have been very hesitant to seek assistance from the community as we were not brought up to ask for help and to work for everything in life.  My Father worked his entire life for his family and has a decent retirement package even though he was forced to retire much earlier than hoped due to disabilities.  Unfortunately, medical bills, co-payments, pharmaceuticals, and ambulance transfers are making it impossible to manage financially and bills are piling up. Nancy has been under treatment at 4 hospitals (Niagara Falls Memorial Medical, Millard Fillmore Suburban, Eastern Niagara Hospital and currently in ICU at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo). Throughout most of the hospitalizations Nancy was in critical condition. when she was finally stabilized and recovering, the hospitals would send her to various rehabilitation centers (3). Within days of being treated, they had to rush her to the emergency room as her vitals dropped and was unresponsive. Her colon and small intestine ruptured last month and had emergency surgery and partial removal of the organs. Due to various infections has been treated with nuclear medicine and forms of chemotherapy.  She has pneumonia, sepsis, and at the moment dangerously low blood pressure.  She has several other issues, but I think you can understand the dire situation.
