Hello Everyone,
This summer, from July 28th-August 9th, we are going on a mission trip to Haiti. One week will be at Kay Mari Orphanage and visiting the elderly and forgotten in the mountain village in Duverger and the second week at Missionaries of Charity Hospital for poor, sick and abandoned children in Port-au-Prince.
We will be going with other 7 college students and we are so excited to go love and serve as God wants us to! We believe that this is also a great opportunity for YOU to help and be part of this mission trip, by helping us in prayers and financially. By donating money you would be making this trip happen and help us go and serve and give joy to the people we encounter there!
I (Jeannette) have been in mission trip to Haiti twice already (last summer and this past winter break) and it has been a life-changing experience. The Lord has deeply changed my heart and has placed in it a true desire of serving and loving others. I am looking forward to growing in this desire and be able to be a God’s vessel of love to others.
You will probably wonder, why so much money??!! What the heck? Well, we will break down the costs to you so that you can understand:
The total cost to fundraise for each person is $1,661.40
$1,000 - Orphanage in Haiti (cost of food, lodging, travel and donation for mission)
$100 - Missionaries of Charity food and lodging cost
$561.40 - Flight ticket to Haiti
As you can see, what makes this trip so costly is the $1,000 for the orphanage. This is because from the airport to the orphanage is almost 6 hours away round trip which is a lot of money in gas. Also, they will provide us for all three meals each day for a week. They are also providing us lodging and the rest is donation for mission. The rest of the money will go to the children, to help the orphanage keep running and so that these kids can have a home, food and education. The mission donation is also going towards a school, elderly home, a church, and a medical clinic they are bulding near the area we will be serving. These kids and people that are living in the area (Duverger) need education, home and medical care.

Our goal here is $2,000 for each of us, so the rest of the money ($661.40 each) we will fundraise it ourselves with group fundraisings that we have done and with our own savings and hard work.

Este verano, del 28 de Julio al 9 de Agosto, iremos a una mision a Haiti. La primera semana estaremos en el orfanato Kay Mari e iremos a visitar a los ancianos y olvidados en las montanas in Duverger. La segunda semana estaremos en el hospital de las Misioneras de la Caridad de ninos enfermos, pobres y abandonados en Port-au-Prince.
Iremos con otros 7 estudiantes universitarios y estamos super emocionada de ir a amar y servir como Dios quiere que lo hagamos! Creemos que esto es una excelente oportunidad para VOS de ayudar y ser parte de esta mision ayudandonos en oraciones y financieramente. Al donar dinero estarias haciendo de este viaje realidad y nos ayudarias a ir a servir y dar alegria a la gente que nos encontremos!
Yo (Jeannette) ya he ido a mision a Haiti dos veces (Julio 2013 y en Diciembre 2013) y ha sido una experiencia que ha cambiado mi vida. Dios ha cambiado mi corazon profundamente y ha puesto en el un verdadero deseo de amar y servir a los demas. Espero poder crecer en este deseo y ser una vasija de Dios llena de amor para dar a los demas.
Lo mas seguro, te preguntaras: por que tanto dinero? que les pasa? Entonces, les daremos detalle de los costos del viaje para que puedan entender:
El costo total de esta viaje por persona es de $1,661.40
$1,000 - Orfanato en Haiti (costo de la comida, estadia, gasolina del viaje y donacion para la mision)
$100 - costo de la comida y estadia en las Misioneras de la Caridad
$561.40 - costo del viaje aereo a Haiti
Como podras ver, lo que hace este viaje super caro son los mil dolares para el orfanato. Esto se debe a que del aeropuerto al orfanato son casi 6 horas de viaje ida y vuelta y eso es una gran gasto de gasolina. Tambien, ellos nos daran comida en los tres tiempos cada dia por una semana. Ademas, nos van a proveer estadia y el resto es donacion para la mision. El resto del dinero es para los ninos, para ayudar a que el orfanato siga en funcionamiento y estos ninos puedan tener un hogar, comida y educacion. La donacion a la mision tambien es para una escuela, una iglesia, un asilo de ancianos y centro de salud que la mision esta construyendo cerca del area en la que estaremos sirviendo. Estos ninos y la gente que vive en el area (Duverger) necesitan educacion, hogar y ayuda medica.
