Hi everyone!
I’m creating this GoFundMe to support my little sister during an incredibly difficult time in her life. She is a mother of three beautiful girls, including a newborn baby who is just shy of 4 months old. While adjusting to life with a new baby, she is also battling postpartum depression, which has made this already overwhelming time even harder. Over the past few months, she has been hit with one challenge after another, and despite working hard and doing everything she can, she is facing a financial crisis that no one could have prepared for.
The "domino effect" started at the end of last year when a car wreck forced her to pour her savings into repairs. While on maternity leave with her youngest daughter, she had to spend more money to transition to a larger vehicle to safely fit her three growing girls. Between the vehicle expenses, new baby expenses, and other surprise expenses not listed, her "emergency fund" was completely exhausted. Just as she was returning to work and managing the heavy costs of daycare and the transition of a new baby, the rug was pulled out from under her. Her apartment complex was bought out by new management who immediately raised her rent by several hundred dollars—and cruelly backdated the increase.
My sister is a fighter. She is battling postpartum depression while working a full-time job and raising three girls. Two of which she has been raising on her own, as the dad is not involved. She isn't asking for a handout because of a lack of effort; she is struggling because life hit all at once. The combination of predatory rent hikes, mounting vehicle expenses, a growing family and many other little obstacles have created a gap that hard work alone can't bridge right now. I’m asking for any support you can give to help her get through this difficult period, catch up on bills, and regain some stability for herself and her children. Every donation, no matter the amount, and every share truly makes a difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read her story and for any support you can offer.
