On February 9, 2021, Our dear friend and coworker, Tammy, experienced the worst day of her life. Her best friend and husband, Kent, passed away due to complications of the coronavirus. Many of you have also experienced the pain that comes with the loss of a loved one as a result of COVID-19. Although thankful for the three days of bereavement provided by our employer, we would like for Tammy to take additional time to grieve, while she and their 3 daughters try to cope with his passing. Tammy is an oncology nurse and has spent her life devoted to caring for others. Within the first few weeks of this pandemic, like so many others, Tammy’s hours were cut.  She went from working 40 hours a week to 32 hours.  She had the choice to either use 8 hours of her vacation time (PTO) each week or choose not to get paid for those hours. Tammy couldn’t afford to take a cut in pay; therefore, she elected to use her PTO. She was the sole income for her family at that time. Kent had lost his job and had been out of work for several months. Things were finally beginning to look promising. Kent had accepted a job with a really good company; one in which he had worked for previously. Just at the time Kent was scheduled to start back to work, both Tammy and Kent were diagnosed with Covid. Both became quite ill. Tammy was out of work for three weeks. Sadly, Kent became critically ill and hospitalized until he passed away. Unfortunately, like so many, they were not prepared financially.  This has been an extremely difficult time for Tammy and their daughters. We would like to allow Tammy to take some time off and assist her financially with some accumulated expenses. Thank you for your consideration and support!
