Naomi needs our help......

Josh and Amanda here...

As most of you know, we do not have human children, but our cats are our furry children and mean the world to us. We also are not ones to ask for help... but we truly need help right now.

Unfortunately, our little 5-month-old kitten Naomi is sick, and we are still trying to figure out why. She came into our lives when we had already experienced a huge loss, and we really do not want to go through that again...she has stolen our hearts.

Saturday 8/26 she was totally fine, eating, playing, and attacking her siblings Alejandro and Nom Nom. Saturday evening, Amanda noticed that she was feeling a bit warm. Overnight she slept right by Amanda's side, which is unusual. She usually is up and about doing normal kitten things. When we got up, we noticed that a lump had formed on her jawline.

At this point, we took her to Anne Arundel Emergency Vet where she has been since Sunday.

She has been receiving antibiotics, fluids, anti-inflammatories, and pain management but it is looking like more drastic measures are needed to help get her well. Her fever has not gone down, and the swelling is still there. The vets at the clinic think the best course of action is CT scans, X-rays, and exploratory surgery. The surgery will be done tomorrow.

That is where we need help... These services could save her life, but the vets have quoted us about $9000 in addition to the $2500 we have already paid for her care until now. We love her as our own child, and cannot fathom doing anything other than giving her the best care possible.

Any donations will go straight to her care and medical bills. Anything will help, and we are appreciative of whatever you are able to donate, even if it's just a dollar.
