Help John's recovery from his spinal cord injury

Dear Friends,

On April 27th, my husband John fell off a ladder while he was cleaning the gutters on his house, and was paralyzed from the chest down from a spinal cord injury. Since then, he's been working hard to recover in the wonderful care of UVM Medical Center and Fanny Allen Rehab. John has made great progress, even regaining sensation in his right knee, his tailbone, and part of his feet.

He is set to come back home in July, and in preparation for that, we have been remodeling our home to install a handicap accessible bathroom. Alongside the home renovations, we've been looking to purchase a power reclining wheelchair to balance his unstable blood pressure, a handicap ramp, and a ceiling lift system. Our insurance, however, has not been very helpful and has denied coverage, so we're reaching out to the community for support.

We've been incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and visits from friends and co-workers of John, and several people suggested we put together a fundraiser to help cover some of the costs related to his injury.
