Perth to Portland: Help Roar Get To Champs
Donation protected
Knock knock! It's Victorian Roller Derby League. Want to come with us to Champs as our bench coach and help us bring home the Hydra?
This is the question that our beloved Roar (Amy Doherty) said yes to!
So, we're asking for your support to get her to the 2024 WFTDA Global Championships in Portland (Oregon, USA) in November. This includes multiple trips back and forth to Melbourne for team training, as well as costs associated with international travel.
If you've been around roller derby in WA in the last 10+ years, you probably know Roar from Perth Roller Derby. She has worked tirelessly behind the scenes for a decade - from endless hours of work and volunteering at PRD to keep our league operating, through to organising countless games between leagues, right up to building and running state wide tournaments with interstate guests. She plays, she refs, she coaches. You name it, she's probably done it - all for the love of derby in WA.
Roar has given a LOT to the Western Australian Roller Derby community, and we will all benefit from the skills and knowledge she brings home from this incredible opportunity. So, if you're able to help - big or small - we'd love to come together to ease the costs associated with her travel to Melbourne (and America!) over the coming months, and back Roar and VRDL on the path to the Hydra.
