Pam Fights Back
Donation protected
Hi there! Thank you for taking a moment to read this page. In 2012, as I graduated from high school, my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer that attacks plasma cells in the bone marrow. Although there is no cure (yet!), there have been many advancements in treatments. This past summer, my mom's condition unfortunately required her to start more intensive treatments. Since the summer, she has been attending weekly Chemotherapy treatments and obeying a serious home regimen of medicine to fight this disease. She is on round number 8, and has 10 more rounds to go! Although she faces good days & the inevitable bad days filled with side effects, her body is responding well thus far. As you can imagine, the medical bills are continuing to pile up. She had to take a medical leave from work (yes, this took a lot of force to get her determined-self to rest) for 3 months, which affected her work schedule. She could no longer facilitate the BEE Healthy Teens group, coach softball this spring or teach as many classes as usual. This placed a large monetary burden on us. Co-payments for each visit to Boston, treatments, prescriptions, and regular parking at MGH have taken a toll on our family. Although it is difficult to ask for help, I know this would relieve a lot of stress right now. We would appreciate any donation to help cover these bills so we can focus on this fight and getting healthy! My mom is such a strong woman, and has truly been an inspiration as she has taken these challenges head-on with an unwavering mindset. She has proven to be a "giver" her entire life, so I am hoping we can now give back to her, even if it is just a small donation. We appreciate your generosity and love more than I can say. I truly feel blessed for the support received thus far.
Love,
