Kimberly's road to recovery
Donation protected
On September 21'st my mother's life changed forever.
She woke up and went to her job at Altos Pediatrics - Stanford Children's Health . She is an essential worker and has worked in Pediatrics treating thousands of patients over the last 25+ years. Halfway through the day she collapsed and was rushed to the nearest hospital. After multiple tests/scans, the results came back, Cancer.
Kimberly was diagnosed with Leukemia, specifically, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. She had been experiencing extreme fatigue at work but assumed it was due to her age and the long hours/mask-wearing as a result of COVID-19.
My mother is now undergoing chemotherapy, however her disability pay will not be enough to cover her medical expenses along with her bills. Moreover, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia does not have a cure, meaning that she will have to be on medication for the rest of her life.
My mother has dedicated her life to helping children lead happy and healthy lives. Any support is greatly appreciated during this time.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
With all the gratitude in the world,
Ryan
