Help get Tim back on his feet!
Tim has had the biggest storm in his head. It took a millisecond and poof our world was blown far worse than Delta.
Sunday morning he got up and had to go to work to help with vehicles damaged by Hurricane Delta. He came home cheerful and looked fine. I left for 30 minutes to help my daughter move her food back to her house. They lost electricity on Friday and stayed with us Saturday & Sunday and we saved their groceries. I got back and Tim was sitting in his recliner playing call of duty on his phone. He took a break to eat lunch. About 2:45pm he yelled out “Wow, I just had a loud ringing in my ear!” Then he said his right arm, right side of his face and right leg went numb. I asked him to look at me. He was nauseated and started throwing up. His eyes were going crazy every which way. I immediately thought STROKE. I called my go to nurse friend, JoLynn. She said “Get him to the ER NOW! We can’t play around with a stroke!” I grabbed his shoes, my purse, keys and trash can. He looked frightened. Tim couldn’t walk, he was off balanced. He crawled to the back door and slowly got him up as he tried to step to my car. He actually fell into the seat! We left, I called 911, and they called the hospital to be ready for our arrival.
The Medical Center immediately took over with him. I am in awe of all the doctors & nurses that stepped up to take care of Tim at both hospitals, Southeast Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur and Memorial Hermann Texas Medical in Houston. Both hospitals teamed up together for whatever was going on with Tim’s brain. He had a CT SCAN and they found a clot on the back of his head that caused a stroke. It first affected his right and slowly worked its way to the left. We talked with a neurologist from Houston virtually and he assessed Tim and could see he was slurring his words and other symptoms. By 9:15pm a decision was made to life flight him to Memorial Hermann.
Today a team of doctors and nurses had discussions about what they saw on the MRI. He had swelling at the cerebellum causing pressure (ICP.... increased intracranial pressure) and preventing fluid to flow down his spine and collecting in his brain. So they decided they could not take a chance and wait. They came in talked to Tim and I that surgery was the option to correct this NOW. Tim said “Let’s do it!”

So here we are, awaiting the news on a hourly basis to see how he recovers. We, his family and all of his friends are here for him. We do not know the total cost of all of this, but if you know Tim, you know he'd do the same for you. He is a father, a husband, a brother and a friend to many. I for one am not ready to let him go.
