Surgery for David
Hi everyone. Last week, my brother David was injured in a motorcycle accident. Traveling at a speed of roughly 70 mph, he was thrown from his bike on I-35 during rush hour traffic. By some miracle, David landed on the pavement as traffic stopped, preventing further injury.
Our family was notified that he was alive and okay as he was being rushed to the hospital. Upon seeing Dave, we quickly learned the severity of his injuries. David's clavicle was broken and protruding outward, nearly breaking the skin. Three broken ribs and extensive road rash on arms, torso, and legs were so painful to see but far worse to bear.
After one week of his wife, Michelle, spending four hours daily to re-wrap the wounds, his skin is finally showing signs of healing. His ribs are still far from recovered, but the greatest hurdle has been getting the clavicle set. Numerous visits with various specialists determined that the only way for the bone to recover is through surgery. With medical bills continuing to pile up, I decided it was time to reach out to our community for help. I understand that this year has been unimaginably difficult for most, especially in the financial department. But if you have the means to donate a few dollars, it would mean the world to our family. We are beyond lucky that Dave is still alive and here with us, now we just need to help him on the road to recovery.
