It is going to cost San Juan Islander Editor Sharon Kivisto $5,000 for legal representation to respond to a charge of second-degree trespassing. The maximum fine if found guilty is $1,000. The funds raised will be used for the attorney fees and the possible fine. 

The incident involves photographs taken of the illegal clear-cutting of more than an acre of shoreline on the west side of San Juan Island. The site was formerly Mar Vista Resort. Here is a link to the  news article that the photographs appeared in.
