Our sweet pup was attacked yesterday by our neighbor’s dog. Our neighbors are the greatest. Spent hours once fixing my alternator at no charge kind of neighbors. Our fence is old. Contractors were banging on our house and their dog, out of sorts, pushed through a weakened area. Never a problem before They have accepted full responsibility, but are struggling during these tough times. The 3 hour surgery and stay at the vet is now over $4,500. They have a brand new baby and this is a hard hit on us both. Trixie is the best dog! It all happened so fast. Handing her over to the vet is a blur. If I knew the financial strain on us both would have reached this magnitude..... well, I am glad in some ways I didn’t. My heart is torn. Our sweet Trixie is expected to recover, but will have a long road to recovery as well. More vet bills to come. Please, if you feel it on your heart to help us it would be greatly appreciated. It’s hard to ask this for a dog during these tough times, but it’s really for our family’s best friend. A dog we rescued thinking it was “the best thing for her,” but really she has been the best thing for us. Our family has been through quite a bit these last few years, and this dog has been a huge part in emotional healing for us all. Thank you friends.
