Mini Iceland Affair with Lay Low!

For the last six years I have brought a bit of Iceland to Connecticut with my festival, Iceland Affair. My  event grew very quickly. The outpouring of love for it was so unexpected. The music portion of the event, The Fire & Ice Music Festival,  moved to Infinity Hall in Norfolk selling out the venue three years in a row. The price tag for IA ballooned to nearly $30,000 but my weak fund raising efforts could not begin to cover the costs. I persevered...until I could no longer shoulder the burden.

The 7th edition of Iceland Affair was event that would have placed Icelandic fashion and a celebration of the Raven in the spotlight. To do NOTHING just seemed so wrong.

I decided to return to my roots, the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield, CT for an abbreviated event on June 18, day after Iceland 's National Day. My little event will include Icelandic Horses, Sheep Dogs, a free flying Gyr Falcon, and a travelogue by myself (40 trips to Iceland..I might have something to say!), a screening of the film "Gnarr" (in this election year a most significant work!), and other rabbits I'll be pulling out of my hat.

In the evening, Icelandic recording artist, Lay Low with Agnes Erna will grace the stage at the cozy Winchester Grange #74 in Winchester Center for an intimate evening of music followed by an Icelandic coffee  and Vinartera cake reception.

So much smaller..indeed..but just as sweet and with a huge price tag! I am seeking funding to pay for flights for our artists, a rental home, rental car, funding to cover the costs of renting the Grange, hiring an amazing sound engineer to make this a world class concert befitting an artist as exceptional as Lay Low, buying coffee and cake, decorations for the hall, flying our Gyrfalcon and trailering our Icelandic Horses to White Memorial.

No donation is insignificant...and would mean so much to me. To keep costs down I am not offering premiums. Bringing back Iceland Affair to what it was is not impossible but I need your help to do it. There is NOTHING in the United States that can begin to deliver the feeling of this precious event celebrating the many facets of this miraculous nation. My dreams are as big as what you are willing to invest.

Thank you so much for your support. I look forward to seeing you on June 18th in Litchfield and Winchester Center!
