Hello, my name is Dustin Codair, and I am the son of David "Pop" Codair. My family and I are looking to raise money to bring Pop back to his home state of California, where his mother and sisters still reside. I believe that successfully getting him back to California would ultimately be a life-saving experience for my father, and we are asking for your help to make that happen.

He currently suffers from a multitude of severe health problems. Among this list and perhaps most detrimental currently to his health is COPD. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, or COPD, refers to a group of diseases that cause airflow blockage and breathing-related problems. It includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. The severity of this disease is causing his quality of life to diminish rapidly. Pop requires consistent care and attention from medical professionals and loved ones to keep him happy and healthy. Such care can be provided for him through his Medicare/Medicaid benefits in California while living in an assisted living community shared with his mother and frequently visited by his sisters, Cheryl, Tina, and their families. He will be provided with full-time nursing care to ensure he takes his medication, is fed and is living life to his fullest potential.

His current living situation is a toxic environment not conducive to healthy living habits and proper medical attention, so we need to get him the care he needs with the loved ones he deserves to share his remaining time with. He has recently been admitted into the hospital due to emergency complications with his health. It would be the 3rd time he has needed emergency services and continued care from the hospital in the past two months. And as of September 23rd, he was able to transition from the ER to a rehab facility to begin physical therapy.

Currently, Pop's working hard with doctors to recover from the damage his body has received from his illnesses. We hope that, within October, Pop will be well enough to board a flight with me and take the trip across the country to his new home in California. We hope to raise the total amount before he is released from rehab so we can immediately get him on his way before his health quickly declines once again.

With your help in donating, we will be able to successfully allow my father the opportunity to live the life he deserves once again. Your contributions will cover the expenses of our plane tickets, time off from work, shipping costs for his belongings, travel expenses and necessities for his home there. After these expenses, any leftover donations will be endowed to Pop to help with unforeseen living costs.

My Pop is a good man who has touched many lives throughout his journey here on Earth. He is a deeply spiritual man with a lot of love, laughter, and wisdom still left to provide for the people in his life.
