Help me keep my home!

My name is Laura Lynch and I live with my husband in Temple, Nh. We are close to losing our home if we don’t come up with the money to pay our property taxes.
This is my story:
We bought our first real home in 2014 after we received an inheritance from my husband’s family estate after his Mom passed away. We would never have been able to afford our home if we did not receive this gift. We put every dime we received into our new home so that we wouldn’t have to pay a mortgage and would never have to move again. Little did we know how hard it would be to keep up with our taxes.
In the past we had lived in many places and could not afford rents so in 2005 after our children all moved out we got ourselves a small travel trailer and lived in an RV park for 9 years and was still struggling financially.
My husband was diagnosed and is living with avascular necrosis, a bone disease that is destroying his joints, diabetes, bipolar disorder, COPD and in the last year and a half has had triple bypass surgery as well as cataract surgery on both of his eyes. Prior to this he’s had both of his hips replaced and lives with constant pain in his shoulders and his wrists due to his bone disease. He will eventually have to have both of his shoulders replaced. He takes 13 prescription medications daily.
I am living with COPD/chronic bronchitis and arthritis. At the age of 30, I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease. It attacked my lungs, my joints and my skin. I had a second bout of it at the age of 40. The only medication you can take for this disease is prednisone and it caused an enormous amount of weight gain. I ended up on oxygen for a long time and ended up with diabetes. In 2010 at the urging of my PCP, my pulmonary doctor and my OB-GYN I had gastric bypass surgery. After losing all the weight I no longer needed oxygen and diabetes medication. I now live with COPD/chronic bronchitis because of the damage caused by the sarcoidosis. I also live with arthritis at the top of my spine down my back and in my hands. Since moving to our home in 2014 I have had both of my knees replaced. I now take 4 prescription medications and 5 different vitamins daily.
Due to all of the above we are now both collecting SSDI and receive a limited income every month to live on. Between the two of us we pay for 17 prescriptions monthly. We also pay for several over the counter vitamins and other medications.
Through all of this I have worked as a volunteer with several non profit organizations in NH. Organizations such as the Sierra Club, Rights and Democracy NH, March on Nh and MPA fighting for everyday people struggling in our state. Whether it be the fight for health insurance, struggling public schools, affordable housing, climate change and many other issues. I am proud of the work I do but it is all voluntary. I do not got paid. It gives me a reason to get up everyday.
In the past I worked with many friends and groups to stop the Kinder Morgan Pipeline, as well as our Temple Pipeline Adhoc committee.
I am now a member of Temple’s Renewable Energy committee. I am still involved with the fight for climate change as well as many other issues.
This past month Gov. Chris Sununu vetoed the budget that would have helped lower our property taxes and help many in my position. He has vetoed many bills that would help everyday normal people in our state. He has helped businesses and major corporations get tax cuts/breaks and use loopholes so they don’t have to pay millions in taxes. While these corporations get away with this, people like myself are struggling to survive everyday. We worry about how to keep a roof over our heads, how to keep food on the table, how to keep our homes heated, how to pay our medical bills and many more issues.
I know there are many people like myself in similar circumstances but I really don’t want to lose my home. I am asking for some help. If you could donate to help us keep our home we would be so grateful. Thank you for anything you can do.
