Please Help Support My Dear Friend Mark Stuckey
I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but today I’m asking for help for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Mark Stuckey.
Mark and I have been friends for over 40 years. We've worked together on and off for most of that time, roofing side by side in all kinds of weather and conditions. We’ve also shared nearly 30 years travelling and boxing together around the world.
Recently, Mark suffered a terrible accident while carrying out what should have been a straightforward roofing job. He fell from a small lean-to roof, only around 8 feet high, but the consequences have been devastating. He has broken both legs, suffered cuts and bruises, and is now facing a long and uncertain recovery.
As many of you know, Mark is self-employed. When you're unable to work, the bills don't stop, and neither do the responsibilities of supporting your family. At this stage, nobody knows how long his recovery will take, or whether he will ever be able to return to roofing.
This accident has really hit home for me. Roofing is a tough, physically demanding and often dangerous profession. Many people don't realise the risks tradesmen take every day to earn a living. The next time you ask a roofer or other tradesperson to work from ladders to save the cost of scaffolding, please think carefully about the risks involved and the impact an accident can have on their livelihood and family.
Anyone who knows Mark will tell you the same thing – he is one of the kindest, most generous and genuine family men you could ever meet. He has always been there for others, and now he needs our support.
As his friend, I would like to ask friends, family, work colleagues, builders, boxers, ex-boxers, trainers, football coaches, and anyone who knows Mark to donate whatever they can to help him and his family through this difficult time.
No donation is too small, and every contribution will be greatly appreciated.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this post. It costs nothing, but it could make a huge difference and help us reach more people who know Mark and would like to support him.
Thank you all for your kindness, support and generosity.
Get well soon, Mark ❤️
