For the past 15 months Djooly, a Haitian teen, has been battling a very aggressive type of cancer, Burkitt’s lymphoma, that is killing his little body. He will die within weeks or months without treatment.
An initial six cycles of chemo unfortunately did not improve his condition and the tumor returned aggressively. But through a concerted effort, attempts are being made to save his life by administering a second line of chemo treatment, the drug Rituxan, that could possibly help and give this young man life, and at a minimum, some desperately needed relief.
But we need your help. Thanks to generous contributions(thank you to those who gave), we’ve been able to raise enough money to purchase one cycle of Rituxan. Djooly needs a total of six!!! That requires at least an additional $17,000 in funds.
Time is of the essence and the life of a young boy is at stake. In the U.S., Burkitt’s has at least an 80 percent cure rate but in Haiti, where cancer treatment is already limited, it can be fatal. We are fighting to make sure this isn’t the case with Djooly.
We need your support to assist him in getting the care and treatment that he needs. Please help save his life. We are hoping for funds to pay for chemotherapy, and other treatment including hospitalization to help strengthen his weak body. Even $5 will make a big difference to him. And again, thank you to all who have donated so far. Please share this.
