Jake Esslinger

It is with a very heavy heart that I say that today my mother and I had to make the very difficult decision to take my younger brother Jake off of life support after many, many years of severe sickness and pain. Many of you know the magnitude of his physical ailments he has withstood over the years, and extreme hardships and pain he endured. His sickness lasted over 15 years, and through all of it he continued to show others nothing but kindness and his good nature. He was abundantly kind, and wanted nothing more than to help others. He was a beautiful soul in every way. We find comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain, but there is an emptiness and a pain we never thought we would experience. He was beautiful, kind, loving, and he endured more pain than most people go through in an entire lifetime. Jake was 32 years old. I ask that you please show my mother an abundance of love and kindness during this time, the pain of losing a child is one that feels so unnatural and a pain I wish people didn’t have to experience.
