Urgent Relief for Flood-Stricken Northern Vietnam
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Just recently, super typhoon Yagi passed through Asia and left behind serious effects. One of them is heavy rainstorms and serious flooding in many regions. To relieve the flooding from their area, and also to prevent a water dam from breaking, China opened its dam’s flood gates. That, plus the Red River being overwhelmed, led to serious overnight flooding and landslides in the northern region of Vietnam.
Many lives have been lost due to landslides, including entire families or villages. Water levels are as high as the second story in many areas. People are stranded on roofs without food or drinking water, under heavy rain and chilly winds.
Without property or vehicle insurance available in Vietnam, all these hardworking farmers and workers are losing everything—their houses, vehicles, pets, everything.
The Vietnamese government has deployed over 450,000 of its military to help people in need. Many Vietnamese humanitarian groups have joined the effort. However, with how serious the conditions are, Vietnam is calling for a state of emergency and pleading for help with medical and necessity supplies.
I’m originally from Vietnam and I love its people, some of the kindest and most hardworking people I've ever known. I’m so grateful to be safe and sound in America. I also know how amazing our Utah community here is! I know you guys always offer a helping hand. So today, I’m pleading with you to lend a helping hand to the people of Northern Vietnam.
Any donation, big or small, helps. With just $5, you can feed a family of 4 in Vietnam for a day. If you can, please donate. If not, please help me share.
Thank you so, so much,
From the bottom of my heart
