Help Sam Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Update 5/17/21: Today Sam met with the Oncologist and it was confirmed through the biopsy that the cancer had in fact spread to his adrenal glands. Originally the Oncologist was hoping the prior scans were wrong but, unfortunately they were not.
Sam will start Radiation on 05/18/21 and that will last 3 weeks and then he will begin chemotherapy. This has already been a long journey for the family and it is only beginning.
The family would like to thank EVERYONE who has donated money and who has/had been praying. Your prayers are felt and welcomed and the extra income has helped this family tremendously.
Sam can definitely feel the love and it is what he needs right now. Jessica says if anyone feels the urge to reach out or stop by, you are more than welcome, and they would appreciate it. All the encouragement is needed during this difficult time.
Through everything Sam has kept a positive attitude and is being optimistic for the future, he knows that despite what the Doctors say, his Lord is bigger and can do what science and medicine cannot. He is taking this time to cherish every moment with his family.
Sam and Jessica want everyone to know that from the bottom of their hearts, THANK YOU!
More updates to come..

Hello Friends and Family,
I am writing this with a heavy heart, Sam, our uncle, husband, father, cousin, friend has been diagnosed with Esophageal Carcinoma; or cancer of the esophagus. (Cancer of the tube that runs from the throat to the stomach)
On April 22, 2021 Sam had a procedure done because he was unable to swallow and keep anything down. Prior to this he had had some issues with eating and had developed a condition known as GERD; he was able to eat but would have issues keeping food down. He made a doctors appointment thinking the issues he was having was due to an obstruction but Sam and his family would have never guessed what that day and the days to come would consist of. He went to the doctor and by performing a procedure with inserting a scope down his throat they noticed a mass and immediately had him admitted to the hospital. He was also experiencing dehydration and had been unable to eat and keep his meals down since April 20, 2021.
Once admitted into the hospital the Doctors confirmed Sam and Jessica's worst nightmare, the mass was indeed cancer. They performed surgery on Sam to have a J-Tube inserted in his small intestines to receive the nourishment his body needs and also had a port inserted to later receive chemotherapy.
On April 28, 2021, Sam was released from the Hospital to his home to rest, but unfortunately, had to be rushed back due to a fever that would not break. Once admitted the Doctors diagnosed him with Pneumonia, for which he was treated for.
On May 2, 2021 He was released from the hospital to recover and rest in the comfort of his own home.
On May 4, 2021 Sam had a PET scan in the morning and by that afternoon he and his family's worst fear was confirmed by the Oncologist that the cancer had spread to his adrenal glands and was now at a stage 4.
It's been an emotional last couple of weeks for all of his family. After receiving the results from the PET scan and finding out the cancer had spread, the course of action from the Doctors has completely changed. Sam will start radiation on May 13, 2021 and will continue that for 3 weeks. The Doctors are hoping that radiation will shrink the mass in his esophagus so that he can eat again. Once radiation is complete, the will go in an remove the J-Tube from his small intestines. Once done, the Doctors want Sam to start chemotherapy and do it indefinitely.
The main goal now is to make Sam as comfortable as possible, and to try to get back to living as normal life as he can, while he can. But the family needs our help, between the costs of treatment and medicine, Sam and his family are now experiencing another obstacle; that of financial hardship. The last thing needed on their plate at this time is the worry of if bills will be paid and medicine can be afforded. That is where we can come in and help!
Family and Friends, let us help donate to Sam and Jessica and their kids to take once less worry off their plate. Let this time be for spending time together, caring and loving on their husband, father, grandpa and all the wonderful titles Sam holds.
Anything helps, and anything is appreciated by the family. This family has a long journey ahead with many obstacles, but together they can do it. Let us help by offering to take some of the burden off; if only by a little.
