Hello,
I wanted to reach out to every one today to tell you about my dearest friend Isabel. Isabel has developed a condition called thoracic outlet syndrome. Thoracic outlet syndrome is a condition that hinders the upper extremities of the body. Basically it is a compression of the nerves and arteries under the clavicle. The compression causes extreme pain numbness tingling and loss of mobility in the hands arms and neck.
Although it appears that she is fine she is in a tremendous amount of pain. Mentally and physically it has put a strain on her entire life. The day to day easy things that we take for granted have become difficult and almost impossible for her.
Isabel developed the condition after years of playing the violin. It is her passion and way of life. She has toured all over the United States and the world because of her wonderful talent and friendly demeanor. She is a kind, honest and loyal friend of mine and it has been difficult to see her deal with this condition.
She has had some insurance coverage but unfortunately that ended as she was forced to resign from her full-time job as a teacher. I would like to raise a health fund to help offset some of her out-of-pocket expenses as well as to help begin alternative treatments to surgery. Such as physical therapy and a posture corrector. The posture corrector can help prevent further injury and relieve some pressure on the nerves and muscles.
