Jacob Riggs recovery and medical expenses
Hello my name is Jacob Riggs, I am a firefighter/AEMT and recently I had a medical emergency in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park which resulted in me fighting for life for three days in the forest. I was found thanks to the relentless efforts of so many people and organizations, but during my ordeal I lost a life threatening amount of blood and had injuries due to exposure. Currently I am recovering from several days in the ICU and will ultimately need help with medical expenses. My goal is simply to cover the cost of treatment, and anything else above that will be donated to local fire departments and food banks in the Knoxville and Sevierville areas. East Tennessee has always been my home, and the volunteer spirit always shines through in the darkest times, that’s why this place and the people who call east Tennessee home will always be family to me, I love you all and thank you
