Hello all, I am Alice. I live with my girlfriend Kimberly. We are 22 year old transwomen who are currently facing an immediate threat of homelessness. Since a bout of unemployment and Kim loosing hours at her job, we have been several months behind on rent. We were given a pay or vacate notice by our landlords that requires us to pay 750 dollars by October 9th or else we will be evicted. While we are semi confident in our abilities to pay a payment plan, we have no way of accessing the money we need in time. We have sought out every homelessness prevention resource that we know of and nobody has funding. At the moment, if we were to go homeless while I am unemployed, it would be very hard to gain employment. It would be near impossible to pay the back rent required to even attempt to get a new place. So we are facing a potentially life ruining situation. At this point I am running out of any options aside from to ask others and do my best trying against hope for the next week.
